Our History

Asher Custom Homes began as Kogan Builders, Inc. in 1999. Over two decades KBI grew to become the most award winning custom home builder design-build firm in Southwest Colorado. Recognizing the growing potential of building premier homes in this area, Edward Asher purchased Kogan Builders, Inc. in 2019.  Edward has drawn upon his extensive engineering background and experience building and growing a company as he has taken on the transition from KBI to Asher Custom Homes. Edward is a hands-on leader who has brought new energy and a family atmosphere to the team and is expanding Asher Custom Homes into new business segments and geographies.

Edward values a client-focused company culture, driven by quality and inspired by creativity and passion. He also sees the potential in the quality of life presented by the incredible backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, and all the possibilities that it affords.

Community Involvement

Few things are more important to us as a firm than community involvement. Each year, as a company we contribute to our local community through cash donations, volunteering and participating in local projects and events. Our goal is to support the local charities, organizations and clubs that make Durango and its surrounding communities such a wonderful place to live.

We are particularly proud of our involvement with the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado.  As the lead sponsor of the Durango Wine Festival, we support the Foundation’s work helping non-profits in our community to do their great work.
